Busta Rhymes on track with local rapper

LANARKSHIRE BASED rapper Hydro has made a record with Hip Hop superstar Busta Rhymes.

The track, entitled ‘Crowd Goes Wild’, was produced by LES (Will Smith, 50 Cent, Jay Z) and features Stephen Marley’s protégé, Illustr8 on the chorus.

The song is part of a new double a side release from Hydro.

The other track in the package, entitled ‘Sugar’, features Australian singer Che’nelle and was produced by Clinton Sparks (Akon, P. Diddy).

These are the first two tracks to be released of Hydro’s new album Crucial and having had a listen to the both of them, I must say that they are very impressive.

‘Crowd Goes Wild’ is a club banger featuring a ridiculously awesome Busta Rhymes verse and a searing pair of verses from Hydro.

Sugar, in contrast, is more laidback and Hydro tells a melodic love story over a sample from “The Makings of You” by Gladys Knight and Curtis Mayfield.

Both tracks are so different and showcase Hydro’s vast experience and versatility as a rapper.

On working with Busta Rhymes, Hydro said: “'Working with Busta was fantastic, he's a professional and a gentleman.

“Busta has been around longer than most musicians let alone rappers and he's still top of the game, coming with something fresh every year, he's done like 10 platinum albums, numerous Hollywood blockbuster movies and has worked with everyone who is anyone in Hip-Hop.

“So I'm proud to have done a project with him and put myself amongst Hip-Hop music's elite and exclusive names who have had the pleasure to work with a legend like Busta Rhymes.

“Shout out to Kam, DJ L.E.S and Dr. Dre for making it happen.”

Crowd Goes Wild/Sugar will be released for download and from in store on the 22 September 2008, with the album Crucial due out the following week on 29 September.
