MEMBERSHIP figures released by the Performing Right Society (PRS), reveal that Lanarkshire is top of the Scottish league for new songwriting talent.
The figures are calculated using the number of new members who have joined the PRS, the organisation responsible for collecting and distributing music royalties to composers, songwriters and publishers, over the last year.
Nearly 100 Lanarkshire-based songwriters have joined since May 1 2007, the highest number of new members from any Scottish region.
