Speed racer comes hurtling out of the big screen

FROM Larry and Andy Wachowski, creators of the groundbreaking “The Matrix” trilogy, and producer Joel Silver comes the live-action, high-octane family adventure “Speed Racer” which hits screens at Glasgow Science Centre’s IMAX cinema from May 9.

Hurtling down the track, careering around, over and through the competition, Speed Racer (Emile Hirsch) is a natural behind the wheel.

Born to race cars, Speed is aggressive, instinctive and, most of all, fearless.

Based on the classic cartoon series, the live-action “Speed Racer”" will showcase the kind of revolutionary visual effects and cutting-edge storytelling that have become the benchmarks of the Wachowski brothers’ films.

With crystal clear, larger-than-life images and state-of-the-art digital surround sound, IMAX creates an environment that puts viewers in the movie.

You will feel Speed Racer’s adrenaline as this high-octane adventure comes hurtling into Scotland’s only IMAX cinema — the most immersible cinematic experience around.

The Glasgow Science Centre is giving three lucky Hamilton Advertiser readers the chance to win a family of four Access All Areas pass by simply answering the following question:

Question: Who directs the film “Speedracer?”

As well as visiting the IMAX to watch “Speedracer” the lucky winners will also have access to the Science Mall and Planetarium.

Explore hundreds of exhibits in the Science Mall where you can participate in live science shows and sit back and relax under the stars in the unique ScottishPower planetarium.

For those not lucky enough to win the Access All Areas pass, take advantage of Glasgow Science Centre’s special “Fast Pass” where you can see “Speed Racer” in IMAX and visit the Science Mall for only £4 extra — a saving of £1.95.
