Tenement Tales out to bring the house down

HAMILTON playwright Elizabeth Davidson is set to entertain audiences with her production of Tenement Tales.

The show, which was performed as part of South Lanarkshire Council’s Young at Heart Festival, had a successful run, with four sold-out performances.

It will now be performed again as part of the authority’s showcase on Monday, March 31 at the Village Theatre, in East Kilbride.

Elizabeth wrote Tenement Tales back in 1999 and it was first performed by the Townhall Players. It was developed further by Elizabeth to offer a more nostalgic feel and is set in the 1950s.

The cast are very experienced, with independent actors and actresses taking part in the Bookends Production.

Elizabeth is now working on her latest piece “Bowling Buddies” which is due to be performed at East Kilbride Arts Centre in April 6 with two performances that day.

Elizabeth, of Silvertonhill, said: “My husband asked me to write something that he could relate to for a change so I decided that Bowling Buddies would be ideal as he is an avid bowler.

“I just hope that he enjoys it!”.
