The Dark Knight is possibly the most anticipated movie of 2008. It’s predecessor, Batman Begins, was one of the most eagerly awaited movies of the last decade.

They are the some of the best super hero movies in recent memory, but many say that they wouldn’t have been made if it wasn’t for the fans.
If this is true then Batman-on-Film.com is critical to the existence of both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.
Batman-on-Film.com (BOF) is one of the most popular fan websites on the internet.
First going in live in 1998 BOF was one of the first of many fan sites to be established on the Internet.
The mission statement for the website has always been to campaign for the long continuation of the Batman movie franchise.
Bill Ramey, aka Jett, believed that none of the 90’s films did not do the comic book hero justice. So he set up BOF in hopes that one day a movie would be made that would give the character of Batman justice.
After a frustrating 8 year hiatus period and several stop-go Batman projects (Batman vs Superman, Batman: Year One) by Warner Bros, Batman Begins was released in 2005.
This film is hailed by many Batman fans, including Jett, as the definitive Dark Knight movie.
The entire crew and cast had created a live-action version of the Batman mythos that fans worldwide would come to worship.
The website maintains a no-spoiler policy when it comes to movie news and never divulges its sources. Jett believes it his not his place to spoil a movie’s plot for fans and that in doing so would be an injustice to the film makers.
The website receives an average of around half a million visitors a month and in July 2007 (when coverage on The Dark Knight was very hot) the website received just under 2 million unique users. That’s pretty amazing for something that was originally intended to be a fan site.
Earlier this month (Feb 2008) I had the chance to sit down and speak with Bill Ramey. During it we spoke about where BOF originated from, how it came to be what it is, The Dark Knight, the passing of Heath Ledger, Kevin Conroy and we answer the eternal comic book geek question….Who would win in a fight, Batman or Superman?
