A Celebration O’ Burns

To mark the 250th anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns and in association with the national Homecoming Scotland celebrations, which will go on throughout 2009, the Town House welcomes you along to an evening of music and song on Thursday 29 January 2009.

Led by one of Scotland’s favourite entertainers Alastair McDonald, and joined by a host of top musicians including one of the country’s finest brass bands - The Kirkintilloch Band and the Bothwell Philharmonic Choir who will provide an uplifting evening’s entertainment which Burn’s himself would surely have been proud of.

Alastair McDonald has been a performer on a full time basis since 1970 and has built up a successful career not only in his native Scotland but all around the world with numerous radio and television credits. He is no stranger to the works of Burns and has over the years recorded many of the bard’s songs.

Come along and hear your favourite songs like My Love is Like a Red Red Rose, Afton Waters, Ye Banks and Braes or Charlie is my Darling…….every one a classic to this day.
