Competition heats up as our top 20 are revealed

MORE than 3500 people have already cast their vote in our search for the Advertiser’s ‘Face of 2009’.

This week, in a special two-page supplement on pages 22 and 23, we reveal our top 20 contestants who will go forward to the next round of voting.

The winner will be selected by professional judges from The Model Team Scotland and our competition partners.

Five contestants have already attracted sizeable votes, in no particular order they are: Hamilton’s Jenny Li, Kirsty Redfern, also of Hamilton, Justine Semple, from Ashgill, Laura White, from Blantyre, and Cheryl Hopkins, also from Blantyre.

Hot on their heels are Hamilton’s Louise Amy Craig, Asten Hill, from Stonehouse, Suzanne Clark, of Hamilton, Gemma Gray, from Uddingston, and Victoria Rodger, from Motherwell.

Many other competitors have also attracted sizeable votes and are still in the running for the accolade.

Since the competition was launched three weeks, ago 3609 people have voted by phone or text and others have handed in coupons printed in the Advertiser.

Forty girls and two boys were bidding to be our ‘Face of 2009’ to win the fabulous package of prizes that includes a professional photographic portfolio from our competition partners, Premier Photography, an evening gown from Eleganza Sposa, dinner-for-four at Angels Hotel, vouchers for Rita Rusk International, and gifts from Elspeth Hamilton Perfumery, Bairds and Always and Forever.

But this week the competition hots up when we ask our readers to vote for one last time.

All the votes will be counted and verified and those with the most votes will make it into our final Top 10.

The overall winner and two runners-up will be selected by the Model Team Scotland.

The lines are now open and will close at midnight on Monday, December 8.
