Skaters in spin for world record

SKATERS are bidding to set a new world record for the highest number of two-footed spins in one hour.

North Lanarkshire Figure Skating Club are attempting the challenge at the group’s training base, The Time Capusle, Coatbridge, on Wednesday, November 12, at 7pm.

The event is to be adjudicated by Guinness World Records and if successful will appear in the next edition of the book.

The club are running the event in aid of this year’s BBC Children in Need Appeal and skaters aged between 5 and 18 are hopeful of raising several hundred pounds for the appeal.
