Model Team sign up to the Face of 2009

A TOP modelling agency has joined forces with the Advertiser in our search to find our Face of 2009.

The Model Team in Glasgow agreed this week to be our official judge for the latter stages our of competition.

The firm have a 40-year track record in the modelling world and have had some of Scotland’s top models on their books.

The business, who are based in Hope Street, have been synonymous with the fashion industry north of the border for many years.

Cathy Owen, operations manager for the Model Team, said: “We would be happy to judge the Advertiser’s Face of 2009.”

The competition has also attracted a great deal of interest from some of our younger readers who had expressed an interest in entering but couldn’t because of our 18-plus age restriction.

In response to this, we have decided to open the competition up to those aged 16 years and over.

HOWEVER PROOF OF IDENTIFICATION AND AGE WILL BE REQUIRED FOR ALL APPLICANTS.

Our search will begin this Sunday at Hamilton’s Premier Photography, 153-155 Quarry Street, our partner in the competition.

Photographer Elaine Dempsey will be on hand to take pictures of all entrants from 9.30am to 6pm.

Elaine, owner of Premier, said: “Since the competition has been announced I have had a lot of interest from people who can’t wait to enter.

“I am really looking forward to Sunday, it should be a fun day. The prizes up for grabs are excellent and it is a great opportunity for anyone who is wanting to break into modelling.”

No appointment is necessary, just head along on the day with a completed coupon from the Advertiser - and proof of identity.

Each entrant will have their picture taken at the Hamilton studio.

The pictures will then be printed in the Advertiser and readers will get the chance to vote for the entrant they believe should go forward to the next stage of the competition.

The overall winner and two runners-up will then be decided by The Model Team.
