Artist wins top award for second time

A TALENTED Bothwell artist has picked up a top award at one of Scotland’s most prestigious contemporary art exhibitions.

Brian McGurk BA (Hons) has won the Milly and Benno Schotz Award, with a cash prize of £250, for his beautiful sculpture entitled ‘Kudumu’ at the 147th Open Annual Exhibition by the Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts (RGI).

It is the second time Brian has won the award.

The 2008 exhibition is open to the public from today (Friday) until Sunday, November 30, at the Mitchell Library, North Street, Glasgow, with a minimal entry fee of £2.00 and £1.00 (concessions).
