Free Stereofunk tickets to give away!

Kate Lawler

FOR the second time this summer, Strathclyde Park will play host to the Stereofunk all-day dance event, this time welcoming some big names from the international dance scene.

Spanish DJ and producer Jesse Garcia is one of Stereofunk’s headliners on June 28, and is well-known across Europe. In 2005, he was presented with the Technics DJ award for his tribal house sound and he is currently A&R at two record labels in his native country – Tribal Spain and Electric Spain Recordings.

Other big acts include former Big Brother winner-turned-DJ Kate Lawler, one of the most talked-about females on the club scene, and Hungarian duo Muzzaik, known for their darker sound.

Local lads Stevie Lennon and Craig Kelman are the founders of the Stereofunk brand and the series of well-planned parties and dance events associated with it.

The pair have been playing on the club scene for years and have held down residencies at venues such as Hype Motherwell and Centre Point in Coatbridge, among many others.

However, they craved something a bit different from the usual club night, leading them to set up Stereofunk. Stevie and Craig set up a number of events across Scotland in park venues and castles, and have since gathered a loyal following.

After this month’s event, the lads have an exciting event to prepare: they joined forces with fellow brands, such as Inside Out and Good Grief, to organise a huge line-up in Strathclyde Park in September, attracting two of the biggest dance names on the planet – Judge Jules and Eddie Halliwell. Stereofunk are also on the look-out for up-and-coming bands to play alongside The Complete Stone Roses at their August event. For details on how to apply, visit the website or email Stevie Lennon on stevie@stereofunkevents.com.
