Two top darts professionals to play in Blantyre

TWO of Britain’s top darts players have been lined up for a spectacular challenge match in Blantyre this year – and we have two pairs of tickets to be won.

Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) stars Peter Manley (47) and Adrian Lewis (24) will go toe-to-toe on the oche at the Parkville in Glasgow Road on Friday, May 28.

Surrey-born Manley, known as ‘One Dart’ as he often hits doubles with his first shot, is chairman of the Professional Dart Player Association and won the 2003 Las Vegas Desert Classic.

Lewis, from Stoke-on-Trent, is ranked sixth in the PDC Order of Merit and is known as ‘Jackpot’, a nickname given to him after he won a £75,000 jackpot in Las Vegas - but was too young to collect it!

Lewis reached the World Matchplay semi-finals in 2007 and used to train with fellow townsman Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor.

Although there has been friction between Manley and Lewis in the past, they are now good friends and organisers expect an exciting and memorable evening.

To stand a chance of winning the tickets, simply answer the following easy question:

Who was Adrian Lewis’s former training partner? Was it (a) Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor; (b) Raymond Van Barneveld; or (c) Martin ‘Wolfie’ Adams? Send your answer, together with your name, address, age and daytime telephone number, to: Darts Contest, Hamilton Advertiser, Press Buildings, Campbell Street, Hamilton, ML3 6AX, to reach us by first post on Wednesday, January 27.

The exhibition match starts at 8pm and tickets, priced at £12, are on sale now. For more information, contact the Parkville on 01698 822861.
