HAMILTON Sports Council’s junior round-robin badminton championships will be held in Larkhall Leisure Centre on Sunday, February 1.
The tournament will cater for primary and secondary school pupils and includes singles and doubles events for both boys and girls.
A primary school competition (P5-P7) will start at 9.30am on the day, with secondary school events at under-14, under-16 and under-18 starting at 1pm.
Players can enter the doubles competition even if they don’t have a partner as one can be arranged. Racquets can also be hired on the day.
To qualify for the competition, entrants must attend school in the Hamilton area (including Blantyre, Bothwell, Larkhall, Stonehouse and Ashgill), be resident in the Hamilton area, be a member of a Hamilton area badminton club affiliated with Hamilton Sports Council or be a member of the Lanark Area Schools Badminton Association.
Entry fees for all players is £3.50. Entry forms can be obtained by contacting Hamilton Sports Council at South Lanarkshire Leisure, New Douglas Park North Stand, Cadzow Avenue, Hamilton or by calling 01698 476108.

Closing date for entries is Friday, January 23.
