Search is on for the top sports performers in Hamilton

IT’S been a great year for sport at local, national and international level, and Hamilton Sports Council are currently seeking nominations for their 2008 Sports Performers and Team of the Year awards.

The Sports Council would appreciate the assistance of Advertiser readers and sports clubs to nominate for consideration for their Hamilton area Junior Male, Junior Female, Male, Female and Team for the top trophies.

Although there are various categories, readers can submit only ONE nomination for appropriate consideration on the coupon below.

However, additional nominations can be submitted on separate sheets of paper if required, giving their name and address and, if possible, a daytime telephone number.

Nominations must detail the individual’s achievements at national, UK, European and world championship level in the past year or information if the nominee was selected to represent their country during 2008.

The Junior Awards age group is under-18 as of January 1, 2008.

In addition, details are sought of local coaches who have shown dedication by spending time to coach or instruct talented sports individuals or teams to national or international success during the year.

Individuals who have contributed many years to coaching individuals or teams, or who are prominent administrators are eligible for the Services to Sport award.
