Christmas Handicap 5k race brings Harriers’ series to festive conclusion

HAMILTON HARRIERS held their annual Christmas Handicap 5k race, capping their Handicap and Grand Prix series.

The race was won by Ross Bickerstaff in 21.12. Gary Mooney clocked the fastest time of the series with 16.58.

David Hay won the overall handicap series, with Roy Foot and Michael Maxton finishing second and third, respectively.

Monthly winners for the 5k handicap series were: Lesley Ann Taylor (February), David Hay (March), Grant McKenna (April), Sarah Knox (May), David Hay (June), Roy Foot (July), Claire Purdie (August), Peter Middleton (September), Neil Robbins (October) and Mark Bryson (November). The sealed handicap was held in January and was won by Lesley Ann Taylor.

Hamilton’s annual Grand Prix series was won by Dave Adams (junior) for the men, and Claire McArthur for the women. Lynne Kelly won the annual Female Endeavour Award and Neil Robbins took the Male Endeavour Award.
