Golf: Ladies had drive to succeed

THIS year’s Sport Clydesdale Ladies’ Inter-Club Team golf tournament was held at Biggar Golf Club last month.

Edinburgh’s Kingsknowe Golf Club’s team of L. Fraser, M. McRobb, G. Petrie and R. Dee defeated a team of L. Higgins, C. Bain, E, Kirk and K. Paterson from Motherwell’s Colville Park to win the Team Scratch competition.

Deer Park from East Kilbride won the Team Handicap competition, defeating Biggar’s ‘B’ team of F. Wight, S. Simpson, J. Woodside and L. Hyslop.

The Individual Scratch competition was won by L. Fraser from Kingsknowe, who was eight shots ahead of P. Hutton from Lanark in second place.

Colville Park’s K. Paterson won the Individual Handicap competition, with clubmate S. McAviney in second, and M. Jackson from Biggar third.
