County team are ninth in Arran relay

TWO Hamilton runners were part of a six-strong team from the county who took part in the Isle of Arran Relay Race on Saturday, July 26.

Willie Lyndsay and Colin McAlpine were part of the North Lanarkshire jogscotland team.

The were one of 24 teams who competed in the event.

The race was split into six parts - an 11.5 mile section, two 10.5mile sections, an eight-mile track, and two seven-mile sections.

The North Lanakshire team finished an excellent ninth overall.

Other runners competing in the team were Pat Mullen (Motherwell), Billy Carswell (Coatbridge), George Robertson (Airdrie), and Alan Cameron (Coatbridge).
