Clyde Valley Falcons are Scottish champions

CLYDE Valley Falcons American Football club were crowned Scottish champions after winning the Tigers Tournament last week.

The Wishaw-based club will now travel to England to take part in the British Championship at junior contact level.

At the Cambuslang tournament Falcons were paired with the Tigers and despite missing top-scorer and tackler Callum Woods, went in 25-12 ahead at half-time.

Although they took their foot off the pedal in the second half, Falcons won 33-27 in the end.

Dundee Storm stood between Falcons and the championship, and the Taysiders started well with the opening touchdown.

However, the Falcons soared back and won by 53-34.

Their final game, what was by then a ‘friendly’ against West Coast Trojans, ended 52-6.

Anybody interested in joining Clyde Valley Falcons should contact Colin Macmillan on 07787 785262.

Alternatively go along to training at Beltane Parks on Sundays from 12pm.
