Weekend of fun at Uddingston cricket club

CRICKET fans have been invited to help Uddingston celebrate their 125th anniversary with a weekend of good food and fabulous entertainment at the lavish new Bothwell Castle Policies clubhouse.

The weekend’s festivities will include the inaugural Uddingston Cricket Club 20/20 ‘international’ Tournament.

A 125th anniversary dinner takes place on Friday, June 13, at 7pm for a 7.30pm start, which features entertainment by former referee Willie Young and local raconteur Stewart Coull.

Tickets priced at £35 per person are available from Jim Lockhart on 01698 329176.

On Sunday, June 15, the club will host the first-ever UCC 20/20 tournament which sees the Saltires, Asian All-Stars and Uddingston Knights compete.

Similar to the televised IPL tournament that is taking the world by storm, this features two semi-finals and a final at the same venue on one day.

The Saltires meet the All-Stars in the elimination final starting at 12pm, with the winners taking on Uddingston in the final at 4pm. Admission to the cricket is free.
