Rotary's round helps charities

BOTHWELL and Uddingston Rotary Club organised an Am-Am golf competition, which attracted an entry of 18 teams.

With the two best net scores at each hole to count, the team entered by Robert Wiseman Dairies were first with a score of 123.

Nelson Jordan and Road Quarries tied for second place, with a score of 125.

Jim Jordan came within 12 inches of a hole-in-one, losing out on a car but winning the nearest-to-the-hole prize.

Thanks have been expressed to everyone who supported the event, which raised a sizeable amount for local charities.

At a meeting for potential new members, £200 was presented to Uddingston Grammar School.
