FOUR teams representing Law and District Amateur Athletics Club returned with excellent results from the National Junior Relay Championships at Glasgow’s Kelvin Hall.

The Under-17 team of Lynn Livesey, Abby Currie, Kirstie McLeod and Laura Livesey set a new club record of 1.48.83 minutes in their 4x200m heat. In a thrilling final, the girls claimed the bronze medal.

Law’s Under-17 men’s team of Alan Robb, Ross Macdonald, Steven Buwert and Bobby Hill also earned a final place, finishing fourth.

The Under-13 girls team of Ashleigh Anderson, Emma Watson, Jenna Sharp and Jennifer Rintoul and the Under-15 boys teram of Lewis Nicholson, Ross Hill, Craig Wellcoat and Stewart Hall put in some fine performances in their heats.

Gary Grieve took part in the DM Hall Senior Championships, also held at the Kelvin Hall, recording a personal best time of 1.59.07 in the Under-20 800m.

TWO Lanarkshire badminton stars have been named in Scotland’s squad for the European Team and Individual Championships in Denmark next month.

Bellshill’s Andrew Bowman and Bothwell’s David Gilmour are in the 10-strong men and women’s squad for the championships, held in Herning from April 12-20.

In the group stages, Scotland will face Russia, Denmark snd Estonia the following day. The squad will stay on for the individual tournament, from April 16-20.

SOUTH Lanarkshire Under-Age League are looking for teams of players born from 1997-2001 (inclusive) to play in a summer league. For more information contact Jim on 07795 090517.

l Larkhall United Under-17s are looking for players. They train on a Tuesday and play games on a Sunday afternoon in the Cumbernauld and Kilsyth Youth Development League. Interested players born on or after January 1, 1991, should contact Charlie on 01698 889089.
