Motherwell in shock as Craig Brown resigns

CRAIG Brown has left Motherwell FC along with his assistant, Archie Knox.

In a shock move, the 70-year-old gaffer announced his resignation late on Thursday night.

He is now expecting to take over from sacked Aberdeen manager Mark McGhee at the Pittodrie club.

Brown had initially rebuffed an approach from Aberdeen earlier in the week, but made the U-turn following a further meeting with Dons chairman Stewart Milne.
