DAVID BUCHANAN has admitted he is desperate to ease the pain of Hamilton’s last-gasp loss to Rangers by beating Hibernian on Saturday.
Accies travel to Easter Road on the back on a brave 2-1 defeat against the SPL champions, who had Kenny Miller to thank for their late winner.
Now Rochdale-born Buchanan hopes Accies can get over the blow of losing in the last minute to Rangers by taking full points from Hibernian.
“Football can be cruel,” said the 24-year-old left-back, who faced an Old Firm side for the first time on Saturday. “I thought we more than matched them.
“We thought we had a point and then conceded a late goal. It knocked the stuffing out of us.
“I’ve been speaking to the lads who have played in the league for a few years and Hibernian are another strong team.
“We’ve got to go there with the same attitude that we had on Saturday and, hopefully, we can get a positive result.”
David, who was released by League Two Bury in the summer, admits he is pleased with his SPL career so far.
He said: “Games like Saturday’s are why I wanted to come up to the SPL.
“It’s a competitive league, with good teams, and to play against Rangers was great , even though the result was a sore one.”
