KEVIN McBride returned to Lesmahagow this week following an 18-month stint at Lanark, and can’t wait to get back into the old routine.
The right-back said: “I’m glad to be back. I had seven good years at the ’Gow but wanted to try something different at a higher level.
“I got married in August and, with a young family, I decided to take some time out.
“That meant I missed pre-season training and without that commitment it wasn’t fair to either myself or the club.
“At the turn of the year I got promotion to manager of the Airdrie branch of City Electrical.
“Now I’m looking forward to building up my fitness and sharpness, and hopefully get back to playing on a regular basis.”
Forth Wanderers boss John McGhee was also trailing McDade but the lure of his first club proved too strong for Kevin to resist.
Shotts have signed left-sided defender Andy Boslem, who played for Queen’s Park last season and had a stint with Port Talbot in Wales.
Manager Tony McInally said: “I rate this lad very highly.
“He is a defensive-minded penalty box player in the mould of Eddie Farrell, and I think we’ve got a good acquisition in Andy.”
Lanark manager Tam McDonald has signed Mark Quinn, a left-back or winger, from Glenafton.
