Dynamo master poor conditions to take the points

STRATHAVEN Dynamo notched up a 3-0 win over Innishmohr Avondale in a Carluke Amateur Football League Second Division match played in poor conditions.

After passing up several good chances, Dynamo took the lead in 10 minutes when Kevin Wilson drove down the left, played a neat one-two with Steven Monks and released Alan Warnock, who drilled the ball into the bottom right corner.

Dynamo’s second goal came in 40 minutes when Graham Higgins knocked a long ball over the defence and Warnock hammered it into the bottom left corner.

Dynamo got their third with a penalty when Dominic Petorelli was brought down in the box and Paul Greenan slotted home.

Strathaven Dynamo travel to Railway Inn on Sunday.

Dynamo: R. Greenan, C. Gilluley, S. Monks, M. Hepburn, R. Andrew, P. Greenan, K. Wilson, G. Higgins, D. Petorelli, A. Warnock, D. Lambert. Subs (not used): M. Cybulski, C. Henvey, E. Gilliland.

l We intend to improve our coverage of amateur football in Lanarkshire.

If you run a team and want to see the details of their games reported in the paper each week contact our sports reporter Andy McGilvray.

Each report should feature the scoreline and scorers, brief account of the game, names of team members, and the competition in which the game was played.

We would welcome reports on ALL games ranging from boys’ and girls’ football to the higher levels of the non-professional game. Team photographs would also be welcomed. To feature your team contact Andy on 01698 205022 or email: amcgilvray@s-un.co.uk
