Ready for Shotts at glory

SHOTTS Bon Accord head for Girvan on Saturday, knowing that a win could hoist them three places up the Super League First Division table.

And they’re back on the road again on Tuesday for the Sectional League Cup Final against Arthurlie at Maryhill’s Lochburn Park.

Shotts’ cup form has been impressive this season and that 4-0 semi-final away win at Ashfield will give them confidence against an Arthurlie side currently propping up the Super League Premier Division, without having recorded a league win.

Shotts have shrewd midfield playmakers in John Boyack and John Goodwin, while opportunist strikers Kevin Barr and Chris Gardiner are capable of scoring.

A Shotts trophy win would be good for the Lanarkshire game, and would see them qualify for the Evening Times Champions’ Cup at the end of the season.
