MARK McGHEE reflected on Saturday’s 3-2 defeat at Hearts in their SPL opener and insisted he’s not too disappointed.
It was a frustrating game for the Steelmen, who twice fought back through David Clarkson, only to lose to a wonder goal by Saulius Mikoliunas.
But McGhee said he won’t change Motherwell’s attacking style of play.
He said: “There is no danger we are going to change the way we play our football – it’s the only way we can play.
“We have a group of players here that are proper footballers and that is what we will continue to do.
“We haven’t played in any game since I have come here where we have set up in what I think to be a negative defensive way.”
Aberdeen visit Fir Park on Saturday, hoping to bounce back from their 2-0 opening-day defeat by Inverness.
But McGhee will be hoping to pile the misery on his former club.
He said: “We approach every game the same, home and away.
“What happened in our games against Aberdeen last season has nothing to do with it now.
“We had a decent record against Aberdeen, but we had a good record at Tynecastle last year, and lost on Saturday.
“So this weekend it is solely about us and them on the day.
“They were beaten on Saturday and so were we. I’m not quite sure how they are feeling about their defeat but we don’t feel all that bad about ours.
“We go into the game in a positive frame of mind.
“That is all we can do and I have no fears.”
