Stuart Taylor returns to Accies, but not Andy Millen

ACCIES’ first team coach Stuart Taylor has ‘returned’ to the club after an apparent contractual dispute.

However, while an agreement now appears to have been reached with Taylor, assistant manager Andy Millen is no longer at the club.

It had been reported that the pair had reached an impasse with the club over the signing of a new deal a few weeks ago.

Taylor and Millen had been offered written contracts, as opposed to the verbal agreements they already had with the club, said Accies chairman Ronnie MacDonald.

While Taylor’s return has ended speculation, Billy Reid’s number two Millen is unlikely to be back at New Douglas Park.

This week, Reid remained tight-lipped about the situation, but added that he was happy to have the first team coach back.

He said: “Stuart Taylor has been large part of this club’s success over the last five years. Obviously, I am delighted that he is now back doing what he does best.”

However, Reid dismissed suggestions the club will now be looking for a replacement for Andy Millen, saying: “I have managed this team alone for a few years, and I can continue to do that. So at the moment we are not looking for another number two.”
