FORMER Hamilton Rugby Club coach Ian Morrison was recently presented with an Honorary Life Membership by the Laigh Bent club in recognition of his achievements.
From 2000-07, ‘Mogsy’ led the club from Division 5 West to Premier 2 in successive seasons, just missing out on promotion to Premier 1 at the first attempt.
Over the next two years, Hamilton remained in Premier 2 before dropping down to Premier 3, and during the season that Morrison stepped down as head coach.
Following the recent Scottish Hydro Premier 3 fixture against Garnock, club president Donald Woodrow presented him with the award and said: “The club wanted to go on record to say thanks to ‘Mogsy’ for all he had achieved during his time with the Bulls.
“Ian’s legacy to the club is a belief that we can compete at the highest level in the club game and the understanding of what can be achieved when everyone works together to develop players of all ages.”
