Dalziel 2nds racked up a good win at Kirkcaldy in front of the 1st XV coaches.
WITH their game at Annan called off due to a frozen pitch, Dalziel’s coaches were given a chance to watch the second-string play at Kirkcaldy.
Dalziel started well and Barry Turnbull passed to Jamie Hillis, who had cut a tremendous angle through the Kirkcaldy defence and he released Fraser McKenzie to score.
In 12 minutes, Turnbull broke on the blindside and found Paul White, who made a searing 60-metre break before passing to David Aitken to cross before converting for 12-0.
Eight minutes later, Kirkcaldy scored a converted try, reducing the gap to just five points.
However, Victor Czarnocki played a one-two with Fraser Stango before crossing in the corner, for a 17-7 half-time score.
Just after the break, Kirkcaldy scored another converted try, reducing the deficit to 17-14.
But by the 50th minute, Dalziel had the bonus point in the bag when another blindside move saw Czarnocki go over for his second try, with Aitken converting for 24-14.
Aitken slotted a penalty and then converted a try by Les Barclay to round the scoring off at 34-14.
Dalziel are on target to finish in the top six of the league in their first season.
