SEVERAL county teams were left idle at the weekend due to the winter weather.
Uddingston’s Scottish Hydro West League Division Two match against Clydesdale was called off due to a frozen pitch, and the two sides will make a fourth attempt on Saturday to stage their Regional Bowl preliminary round clash at Bothwell Castle Policies.
No replay date has yet been set for the league match.
A similar fate befell Strathaven as they attempted to host Arran in the same division.
A frozen pitch caused problems initially, but then that was added to by fog.
Strathaven have a free weekend.
In the West League Division Three, Lanark crashed to a 24-10 defeat at Hyndland.
The hosts grabbed tries through Tony Smith, Joe Halley, captain Innes Macleod and Euan Murray, with Andy Brown converting two of them. Lanark grabbed a penalty from Iain Hughes and a try by Finlay McLeod, converted by Hughes.
Lanark were due to play Mull on Saturday but their opponents are in Bowl action instead. A friendly has been arranged against Uddingston 2nds at the Racecourse.
