SCOTT Lawson is in line to earn his 17th cap when Scotland take on Fiji at Murrayfield in their Bank of Scotland Corporate Autumn Test opener next month.
Lawson (28), who kicked off his playing career at Biggar, is part of a 32-man squad named by head coach Andy Robinson.
The Gloucester hooker is one of several Scotland A players that Robinson took to Romania during the summer.
The squad will gather for a three-day camp at St Andrews on Monday, November 2, and will then meet up at Murrayfield six days later, ahead of the Fuji match on November 14.
Scott is joined in the squad by Gloucester team-mates Alasdair Dickinson, Rory Lawson, and Alasdair Strokosh.
Scott said: “Playing for your country is the biggest honour you can get and I would love the opportunity of playing at Murrayfield.
“I’m delighted to be in the squad, it is an expanding squad of 32 that will be whittled down to 22 and, ultimately, 15, but I’m delighted to be a part of it at the moment.
“I’ve been playing every week for Gloucester; results are up and down and we’re mid-table, but it’s a good, competitive environment and obviously that is helping.
“Andy Robinson also took me and a few others to Romania, Scotland ‘A’ is the second tier of Scottish rugby and he got a good look at us, so I think that helped in the selection too.
“It’s massive to be in the squad and I hope I get the opportunity of playing at the national stadium, because that’s what it’s all about.”
