FRUSTRATED Clydesdale were idle at the weekend after Saturday’s West League Division Two match was postponed when Cowal were left with only eight players.
Gordon Bennie’s side have only managed one game this season, while many of their rivals have played two more.
That’s hardly ideal preparation for a side preparing to tackle second-placed Strathaven at Whiteshawgate on Saturday.
IN the West League Division Three, Lanark were similarly left kicking their heels when their home match against Mid-Argyll was called off.
Working commitments meant that the Lochgilphead side were unable to field a team.
Lanark instead played Dalziel 3rds in a friendly, running out 32-3 winners, with Iain Hughes and Steve McKeown putting in outstanding performances, while Johnny Pringle’s pitch-length try was the pick of their scores.
In an arrangement with the SRU, Lanark are idle this weekend as their match at Isle of Mull was moved to January 30 earlier in the summer.
