BIGGAR moved into third place in the Scottish Hydro Premier 2 table following this comfortable win.
The match featured six tries and, had kicker Douglas Notman enjoyed a more favourable day, the score could have been greater. However, he managed one penalty and a single conversion.
GHA stand-off James Noonan reduced Biggar’s lead with two kicks at goal and the Glasgow side got within four points following an Andrew Gillman try, taking the score to 14-11.
But Biggar stretched away after that and simply never looked back, securing a winning bonus point to reflect their superiority. Biggar’s tries came from Grant Owens (2), Scott Cameron, Simeon James, Bob Aitken and Chris McKeand.
Biggar are away to Kelson on Saturday (3pm).
l Biggar’s annual mini-rugby tournament takes place on Sunday and extra voluntary help to run it will be welcomed.
Teams from Boroughmuir, Currie, Dalziel, Edinburgh Accies, Melrose, Selkirk and Stirling County will take part, with over 360 players, plus referees, coaches and spectators descending on Biggar.
