Hamilton Rugby Club land kit deal with world class brand

HAMILTON Rugby Club were this week given a major boost after clinching a new three-season kit deal with sportswear giants Puma, ahead of their 2009-10 Premier Three campaign.

The Laigh Bent club has signed a Teamwear deal with “The Kit Team”, Puma’s licensee for PRO Teamsports in the UK and Ireland.

The Kit Team design and manufacture the Puma kit and training wear for rugby clubs such as Bath and St Helen’s.

As our exclusive designs show, the home kit retains Hamilton’s traditional blue and green horizontal bands, while the predominantly white away shirt maintains the club’s traditional colours.

Both shirts are made of a lightweight material and are fitted, with modern collars, all of which is designed to help players.

The away jersey, used in the event of a colour clash, is for the first XV only, but replicas of both shirts, in square fit, will be available for sale from the club shop and on-line store.

Kevin Rodgerson, Hamilton Rugby Club secretary, said: “This agreement gives Hamilton the opportunity to wear playing kit under the trademark of the Puma brand – a globally recognised name, respected for quality.

“For the first time in many years all of the Hamilton Rugby Club teams from our youngest midi side through to our first XV will play in kit coordinated through its design.

“The new Teamwear look will be consistent across the training wear, leisure wear and club merchandise, offering a wide range of high-quality products and choice to our players and supporters.”

John Howarth, managing director of the Kit Team, commented: “This gives us a great opportunity to present new Teamwear designs within the Scottish Premier Division Three, and we look forward to seeing the team play in the kit in front of supporters for the first time.

“This is great news for rugby clubs in the Lanarkshire area, who can also design their own Puma kit with the Kit Team.”
