LANARK RFC's growing playing strength is a great encouragement to the club.
On Saturday Niall Robertson joined their ranks playing at centre.
With a few more members a second XV would become a distinct possibility, which would be a tremendous boost, adding to the competition for places and giving everyone a game.
Most encouraging of all, is the introduction of rugby this term to the curriculum for S1 and S2 pupils at the Grammar School. With a fledging S1 team already representing the club, players interested in joining in should come along to their training sessions which are being held indoors this month at the Lanark Market on Wednesday evenings starting at 6pm. The seniors and colts take over at 7.30pm. Training shoes to worn. The Minis train on Sunday at 10.30am at Lanark Racecourse.
The Colts, an under 17 side, were disappointed their game against Kilmarnock on Sunday was cancelled. Provisional arrangements are in place for a game against Paisley on February 1.
