LANARK consolidated their two-point lead at the top of the Scottish Hydro Electric West League Division Three table with a 45-0 win over Mid-Argyll.
Playing with the wind at their backs, Lanark got off to a flier with a try by John Pringle in the second minute.
Others followed bringing the half-time score to 33-0, with tries coming from Derek McGuinness, Melvin Hart, Jamie Thomson and Graham Reid. Iain Hughes added four conversions.
With the wind approaching gale-force tactics changed for the second half.
Few attacking moves were developed and the most successful on the left flank was halted just short of the line for Danny Filbert to recover the ball and score his first try for the club.
A mesmerising run by Steve McKeown, who fielded a kick ahead on the half-way line and left everyone standing as he darted through for the final try was unquestionably the finest score of the game. Hughes converted for a comprehensive 45-0 win for Lanark.
