Weather wipes out county fixtures

TORRENTIAL rain caused a near wipeout of Lanarkshire clubs’ involvement in the Scottish Hydro Electric Leagues on Saturday.

Dalziel’s National League Division One match at East Kilbride was called off, as was Uddingston’s visit to Oban Lorne in the West League Division One.

Strathaven’s West League Division Two clash at Hughenden also fell victim of the foul weather, and Clydesdale’s trip to Hyndland in West League Division Three bit the dust.

West League Division Three leaders Lanark would have been able to play their match against Renfrew at the Racecourse, but their opponents refused to travel for safety reasons.

On Saturday Dalziel entertain RHC Cougars at Barnton, Uddingston host Strathendrick, Isle of Arran visit Strathaven, and Lanark travel to Renfrew.

All matches kick-off at 2pm.
