UDDINGSTON Rugby Club’s mini section starts again on Saturday, with registration followed by a training session.

In order to register, a parent or guardian will have to attend with players, as some documentation has to be completed and signed.

Subscriptions for the season will also be collected during registration.

The first fixture of the season for Uddingston’s young squads is against Linlithgow and Dundee Eagles at Linlithgow on Sunday, September 14.

Uddingston mini section caters for boys and girls from P1-7, and during the season training normally takes place on Saturday mornings between 10am-12pm.

Uddingston’s 1st XV’s opening pre-season fixture against Marr’s 2nds was cancelled on Saturday, and an away match with Greenock’s 2nds took place instead.

Despite leading 19-14 at half-time, the Villagers crumbled in the second half and lost 53-26. Tries came from Chris Latta, Jamie McPherson and Donald Haldane (2).
