A MAJOR children’s charity is calling on Lanarkshire’s lady golfers to take part in a summer tournament.
Barnardo’s Scotland has linked up with the Scottish Ladies’ Golfing Association for the 10th annual tournament open to all ladies.
A series of competitions will be organised throughout the summer by local clubs, with top scorers from the play-offs going through to the final at Arbroath on August 15.
Last year 53 Scottish clubs took part, raising over £2000 for Barnardo’s Scotland.
SLGA’s Fiona Farquharson said: “There are over 400 golf clubs in Scotland and we would like to encourage them all to take part in the event this year.
“If all of the clubs took part and organised a qualifying competition we could raise a fantastic amount of money for the charity.”
Golfers interested in playing should contact their local golf club, the SLGA on 01738 442357, or Jenny Fergusson at Barnardo’s on 0131 314 6647.
