Law and District Amateur Athletics Club round-up

LAW and District Amateur Athletics Club have had a busy month so far at Glasgow’s Kelvin Hall.

The Scottish Senior Championships took place on Saturday, February 6, with only two club athletes participating.

Gary Grieve won bronze in the 800m in 1.57.14mins and Stephen Allen took silver in the 1500m with a time of 4.09.31mins.

The National Junior 4x200m relays also took place during this event, where Law had six teams competing.

Bronze medals were won by under-13 and 15 boys.

The under-13 team consisted of Evan Jones, Stephen Kelman, Lewis Donnelly and Connor Thomson, while Darren Daly, Calum Lindsay, Thomas Baxter and Christopher Boyle made up the under-15 team.

Their heat times of 2.02.83mins and 1.53.66mins, respectively, were their fastest times.

The under-13 girls’ team just missed out on the final by one place, finishing second in 2.06.68mins.

Under-15 girls’ were fourth in their heat with 2.12.62mins, while the under-17 men’s time of 1.40.48 saw them finish third.

The under-17 women were fourth in their heat with 1.58.23mins.
