Alex Neil told his team-mates to take the game to Livingston on Saturday as they bid to climb the First Division table.
The skipper also wants momentum from the win, going into next week’s Scottish Cup quarter-final clash with Falkirk.
He said: “This is a huge game for us, particularly at home, and we’ve got to get the win.
“Falkirk beat Livingston on Tuesday so we’ve got to take the game to them, try to force the issue, and take the three points.
“The games are coming thick and fast and we’re going to have a lot in the next five or six weeks so it’s about keeping people fit, but hopefully we can put a wee run together.
“If we can start with a win on Saturday, take that into the cup game, and then use that momentum to climb the table.”
Neil reckons Partick Thistle were worthy of their 1-0 win at Firhill on Tuesday.
He said: “To be fair I thought they were the better side and sometimes you need to give the other team a bit of credit.
“Their movement and the way they set up causes problems for teams, that’s why they’re at the top end of the league.”
