HAMILTON were left shell-shocked as Hibs ran up an emphatic win at Easter Road on Saturday.
Accies created a number of chances but came up against an on-form Hibs side.
Simon Mensing forced Graeme Smith to punch his powerful shot over the bar after just five minutes and Mickael Antoine-Curier then saw his effort cleared off the line from the resulting corner.
Tomas Cerny was called into action to push away Anthony Stokes’ low drive before Derek Riordan had a goal ruled out.
But the hosts took the lead on 16 minutes when Colin Nish beat Cerny after a great move.
Their second came five minutes later when Stokes robbed Alex Neil to fire home.
Riordan’s volley before half-time had Accies facing a mountain to climb after the interval but the game was effectively over after a four-minute spell.
A delightful free-kick by Riordan on 51 minutes was followed by Stokes’ second goal.
Flavio Paixao grabbed Accies’ consolation in 70 minutes.
