Accies and Killie fight out a drab 0-0 draw.
HAMILTON and Kilmarnock fought out a dull draw at New Douglas Park on Tuesday night.
While this was Accies’ sixth game in 16 days and were running on empty, Killie have few excuses for their poor display.
Chances were few and far between on a freezing January night, with Hamilton’s best early chance falling to Simon Mensing after four minutes but he sliced his shot wide of the right post.
Kilmarnock should have scored in 25 minutes when David van Zanten was caught dithering as he shepherded Mehdi Taouil’s clearance to Tomas Cerny, allowing Mark Burchill to dispossess him.
But as the former Celtic star bore down on goal, Cerny raced out to block with his feet.
Hamilton almost took the lead in 74 minutes but Antoine-Curier and David Elebert had their shots blocked.
Kilmarnock’s best chance of the game came in 77 minutes when Taouil’s cross from the left was punched away by Cerny as Kevin Kyle threatened.
That was it, but concern from Hamilton will centre around Alex Neil breaking down in the warm-up, and Antoine-Curier injuring a knee.
