Accies girls under-13 enjoy end of season presentation.

THE Hamilton Accies Under-13 girls (white) team celebrated an excellent season during their presentation and disco night.

The girls finished second in the league, reached the Scottish Cup quarter-finals and won the League Cup.

Parents’ Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year awards were won by Kim Black, who now moves up to the under-15s.

It was a memorable night for Willie Brown and Jim Erwin, under-15 and under-17 coaches, respectively.

Coaches Ally Baird and Dougie Baillie, who have worked with the girls throughout 2009, also congratulated the girls on their achievements.

Emma Baird, who suffered a non-football- related illness and had two major operations on her hips, was able to attend the event. She is now gaining strength and confidence each week and after being out of the game for a year she is hopeful she can resume light training.

The evening also provided an opportunity to raise money for Glasgow’s Yorkhill Sick Children’s Hospital, where Emma was treated. A bottle of whisky donated by Ally Baird raised the sum of £136 on the night.
