ACCIES assistant manager Stuart Taylor believes the New Douglas Park side are in great shape for their SPL basement battle with Falkirk on Saturday.
With no fixture last weekend because of the international break, manager Billy Reid put the squad through their paces with a specialised training schedule before rewarding them with three days off.
Taylor said: “The boys were flying just before the break. Sometimes a break can come at the wrong time but thankfully for us that wasn’t the case.
“I feel it’s given the boys who have knocks and stuff a decent recovery time.
“We had a good week’s training and they’ve had a few days off and they came back yesterday.
“They’ve been different class since they came back. They have been really lively and they have responded exactly the way we wanted.
“We gave them a few days off and some of them went home, and since they’ve come back they’ve been brilliant. Everyone’s really up for Saturday’s match.”
Hamilton face a trip to Falkirk Stadium to face the Bairns, who are rooted at the bottom of the SPL, four points behind Hamilton, Kilmarnock and St Johnstone.
Accies remain second-bottom but that could soon change.
With the trip to Falkirk followed by a match against St Johnstone in Perth, Accies have the chance to climb the table.
Taylor said: “We’ve started picking up results recently and started to find our form.
“We’ve got Falkirk, St Johnstone and then Hearts and they’re all close to us in the table.
We’ve got the chance to leap up the table. “It’s a close league. All the games coming up are against teams round about us and it’s important that we pick up points along the way. “If the players keep their momentum going, hopefully the results will keep coming.”
