Ainsley in Scots under-15 squad for Germany visit

HAMILTON Accies Girls FC star Ainsley Douglas has been selected for the Scotland Under-15 squad for their double-header in Germany on July 29-31.

And the talented midfielder has also been selected to attend Under-17 national squad trials, although she has only recently turned 15.

Ainsley signed for Hamilton Accies Girls under-13 team in July 2005 as an 11-year-old and her career has developed rapidly in that time.

Ainsley, from East Kilbride, attended the SFA national training camp in Tulliallan in June and was then selected to represent Scotland’s CYP under-17 squad to head to Ireland in August.

Ainsley’s dad Richard said: “To say that Ainsley is very excited about being part of this squad is an understatement as this was an extremely difficult trial with a lot of very talented players.

“However, it is a fantastic opportunity for her and one that she is looking forward to.”
