An honest day’s work, says ’Well boss

MOTHERWELL boss Mark McGhee was pleased with his side’s performance in Saturday’s 3-0 derby win at Hamilton, and said it proved their professionalism.

With their status secure, McGhee has long said their job after the split was mainly to be fair to the managers scrapping it out for relegation.

And he said: “All I could hope from these games was that we went about it in a professional and honest way, and I think in each of the games we’ve played we’ve achieved that.

“The other managers expect us to be trying and I think we’ve done that.

“We scored some really good goals on Saturday, in particular the third. Cillian Sheridan played up front in a single striker’s role and at times he was isolated but still ran at channels and held the ball up.

“On that occasion he showed a brilliant bit of skill and put the ball on a plate for John Sutton, who is arguably the best finisher at the club.”
