Double joy as girls receive their call-up to Scotland footie squad

 Hamilton Accies Girls’ under-15 starlets Ainsley Douglas and Megan Walker travelled with the Scottish Schools’ Under-15s squad for a four nations tournament in Northern Ireland recently.

The girls set off for games against Republic of Ireland, Wales and their hosts.

Megan from Carluke and East Kilbride girl Ainsley underwent a competitive trials process to secure a place in the squad, and since then have been holding down hectic training schedules with the Schools’ squad, SFA South West Regional squad, and Hamilton Accies GFC in both league and Scottish Cup competition.

Although Ainsley had already represented Scotland at under-15s late last year, Megan – who joined the club from Milton Rovers – has previously been part of South Lanarkshire’s development and the SFA’s regional squads.
