ROCCO Quinn is expected to make only his third start of the season when Hamilton take a patched-up side to face Aberdeen at Pittodrie on Saturday.
But the striker would rather Hamilton travelled north with a full squad, even if that meant he would be on the bench.
Quinn has shown patience as he waits for his chance and knows it’s all about the team rather than individuals.
He said: “Maybe the injury situation gives me a better chance of starting the game, but I don’t want any of our boys to be injured, and the most important thing is for us to have a full squad of players who are fit and ready.
“A few boys have been battling on and soldiering through, and we’ll see what happens at training on Friday. But I hope some of them can pull through.
“It’s going to be a difficult game, we know that, and it’s never easy to go to Pittodrie and try to get a result.
“It’s a hard place to go to. Aberdeen are a really good team with some excellent players, but we’ve shown we’re a decent side now and we hope to go up there and give Aberdeen a few problems.”
Although naturally disappointed with the result, Quinn was delighted to get his first Hamilton goal in Sunday’s 5-1 Homecoming Scottish Cup quarter-final defeat against Rangers.
Rocco said he will take positives from the game and said: “Obviously the result wasn’t the greatest but for me personally it was great to get my first Accies goal.
“It was definitely an experience and, but for one or two refereeing decisions, it could have been a different result – but it just wasn’t our day.
“As a player you’ve got to try and take the positives out of every game and we had a few good young players in the team who didn’t do themselves any harm at all.
“Going down to 10 men was hard but we showed a lot of character and kept going right to the end.”
